Recepción a equipos de deporte base en Guadalajara

– The mayor of Guadalajara, Ana Guarinos, received yesterday afternoon in the City Hall meeting room the three base sports teams that have qualified for the national phase in their respective disciplines. In an event full of emotion and pride, the mayor congratulated the young athletes for their achievements and encouraged them to continue working with passion and commitment.

Alongside the Sports Councillor, Armengol Engonga, Guarinos first welcomed the junior male basketball team from Guadalajara Basket, champions of the Castilla-La Mancha Cup 24/25 and runners-up in the regional league, who have also qualified for the Junior Spanish Championship. In her speech, Ana Guarinos highlighted the effort and perseverance of the players, congratulating them not only for their victories, but also for their dedication and responsibility in every game and training session.

«As important as the victories are, which they are, it is more important to have done everything possible, to have tried and believed in yourselves and in your team to get here,» expressed the mayor.

Reception of the Handball Teams

Next, the reception was held for the male youth and female cadet handball teams from Balonmano Guadalajara. The mayor celebrated their qualification for the national sector, highlighting their hard work and passion for the sport.

«The path to success is not easy, but you have shown that, with perseverance and teamwork, everything is possible,» affirmed the mayor.

Guarinos encouraged all athletes to continue working with the same passion and commitment, reminding them that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and learn, «and everything you learn today with sports will benefit you in your lives tomorrow.»

Additionally, she thanked the coaches and families for their unwavering support, emphasizing the importance of their contribution to the achievements of these young athletes.

To conclude, the mayor wished the teams the best of luck in their respective national competitions, encouraging them to represent Guadalajara with pride and sportsmanship.

«Go ahead, champions! May your journey be full of success and above all, enjoy it and let’s meet again to celebrate,» concluded the mayor.

Sports Agreements

In addition to the reception of the qualified teams, the mayor of Guadalajara proceeded to sign collaboration agreements with the presidents of the respective clubs.

Thus, together with the president of Guadalajara Basket, Luis Miranda, Guarinos signed the agreement for this basketball club, endowed with 28,000 euros. This club was founded in 2011 and already has around 350 committed athletes in its youth system, with base sports teams in all school and federated categories and a strong focus on women’s sports.

With the president of Balonmano Guadalajara, Alejandro Ortiz, the mayor renewed the collaboration agreement for an amount of 150,000 euros, the City Council’s support to this club from Guadalajara, also with a broad youth system and its first team in the top category, in the professional Asobal league.

Both presidents expressed their gratitude for the collaboration of the City Council of Guadalajara and Mayor Ana Guarinos, as well as the improvements being made in sports facilities and the promotion of all sports in Guadalajara, with activities of all kinds, and with the celebration of the Sports Day, which brings together all the city’s clubs and will have its second edition on June 7th.
