Presented the bases for monitors of reading clubs in Municipal Libraries
In a press conference held at the doors of Municipal Library number 1, Borja López, Councilor of Culture, along with Rocío Ballesta, Library Coordinator, presented this morning the call for the selection of monitors who will lead the reading clubs during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Borja López explained that «the call bases are already available for collection both at the library and at the Cultural Center’s Secretariat.» He also clarified that the hiring will not be direct by the City Council, but must be individuals or autonomous companies capable of invoicing for their services. The deadline for submitting applications is August 31.
On the other hand, Rocío Ballesta detailed that «the clubs that require monitors are six: New Horizons, Aitana, Baobab, The Oracle, and International Relations.» The call is open to adults who are interested in reading and who submit a resume, a small reading project for the October to May 2026 course.
The reading clubs, which are free for participants, will start in October and end in May, with registrations open in September. Each club will have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 participants, and the number of groups can be expanded according to space availability. If the number of attendees drops below five, the club will be dissolved.
