Castilla-La Mancha has closed the month of February with a total of 398,167 pensioners, 2.13% more than a year ago. The average pension, although it has increased by 5.09% compared to last year and stands at 1,220.84 euros, is still 86 euros lower than the national average.
In the region, there are a total of 46,734 people who in the second month of the year received a Disability pension, worth 1,113.47 euros, while for Retirement, a total of 239,187 people received it, worth 1,407.73.
For Widowhood, in Castilla-La Mancha there are a total of 94,988 beneficiaries, who receive an average of 924.74 euros, while for Orphanhood, a total of 14,615 people received it, worth 522.57 euros. In this way, a total of 2,643 pensions were paid in Favor of Family members in the region, worth 709.03 euros.
By provinces, Toledo is the province with the highest number of pensions, with 126,411 and an average pension of 1,212.08 euros; followed by Ciudad Real, with 104,110 pensioners and an average of 1,224.5 euros.
Albacete recorded 75,828 pension recipients in February, with an average of 1,187.62 euros; while Guadalajara with 46,169 pensioners, is the province where the average is highest, reaching 1,385.4 euros. Cuenca, on the other hand, has 45,649 pensioners, with an average of 1,125.50 euros.
NATIONAL DATA
In the present month of February, the Social Security allocated a record figure of 13,455.6 million euros to the payment of the monthly ordinary payroll of contributory pensions, 6.2% more than in the same month of 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations on Tuesday.
The February payroll, like January’s, includes the approved pension revaluation for this year, 2.8% in general, and between 6% and 9% for minimum pensions, which is consolidated after its approval in the Congress of Deputies.
Three-quarters of the contributory pension payroll in February corresponded to Retirement pensions, with a total amount of 9,848.4 million euros, 6.2% more than in February 2024.
The payment of Widowhood pensions amounted to 2,186.2 million euros this month (+4.2% year-on-year), while 1,208 million euros were allocated to Permanent Disability benefits; 177.2 million euros to Orphanhood benefits (+3.9%); and 35.9 million euros to Family Benefit payments (+6.8%).
In total, Social Security paid out 10,293,631 pensions in February, 1.6% more than in the same month of 2024, to more than 9.3 million people, also 1.6% more than in February of the previous year. Of these, 4.7 million are men and 4.6 million are women.
The average pension of the Social Security system, which includes the amount of the different types of pensions (Retirement, Permanent Disability, Widowhood, Orphanhood, and Family Benefits), reached 1,307.2 euros in February, 4.5% more than in the same month of the previous year.
On the other hand, the average Retirement pension, received by more than two-thirds of all pensioners (6.6 million people), stood at 1,500.7 euros per month in February, 4.4% more than in the same month of 2024.
