Descubriendo Almansa: historia, sabores y fiestas

Almansa’s Mayor, Pilar Callado, accompanied by the Councilor of Culture and Historical Recreation, Borja López, announced this morning in a press conference an important promotion action for the city: on Wednesday, April 23, Cadena SER will broadcast live its regional program «Hoy por Hoy Castilla-La Mancha» from the town of Almansa.

«We wanted to take advantage of this broad showcase to showcase all the good things we have in Almansa, just before our Main Festivities and the historical reenactment of the Battle of Almansa,» said Callado, visibly pleased with the initiative that will be carried out in collaboration with the most listened-to radio station in the province and the region.

The special broadcast will take place from the Red Room of the Casa de la Cultura between 12:00 and 14:00 hours, and will be open to the public so that anyone can attend and follow the program live. It is a monographic program dedicated entirely to Almansa, with two sections: one covering the province and another with regional coverage throughout Castilla-La Mancha.

The Mayor explained that the program’s content will focus on some of the city’s main attractions. Among the topics to be addressed are the historical reenactment of the Battle of Almansa, the Main Festivities, local tourism, the castle, the reservoir, and, of course, gastronomy.

In addition to Pilar Callado, participants in the program will include Borja López, Councilor of Historical Recreation; Javier Boj, Councilor of Tourism; Rosa Rubio, recently crowned Queen of the Main Festivities; Manuel Olaya, President of the Almansa Historical Association 1707; and Santiago Cabañero, President of the Provincial Council of Albacete. Also present will be Fran Martínez and Cristina Díaz, responsible for the Maralba restaurant, awarded with two Michelin stars, who will showcase the gastronomic excellence of the town.

The Mayor also mentioned that for a few months now, Cadena SER can be tuned in Almansa on 100.3 FM, something that has been well received by the residents. «This program is an extraordinary opportunity to promote our festivals, our history, and everything that makes Almansa special,» she concluded.

The program will be hosted by well-known journalists Kiko Aznar and Carlos Abengózar and is part of the «Hoy por Hoy Castilla-La Mancha» show, the most listened to in its time slot in the autonomous community.
