The National Police has carried out an operation against drug trafficking in Albacete that has resulted in the arrest of three individuals who were actively and continuously engaged in the sale of cocaine in two residences in the ‘La Milagrosa’ neighborhood of the city.
The investigation began when evidence was uncovered that a social housing unit was frequented by cocaine addicts, visits that occurred continuously and at any time of day, in search of their dose of the narcotic substance.
Investigators discovered that the residence was exclusively used as a drug distribution point in small doses, directly to end consumers, as reported by the National Police in a press release.
As the investigation progressed, the identities of the individuals behind this illicit activity were determined to be a couple with a history of police and criminal records for drug trafficking. Additionally, this couple was linked to another male, whom they had «hired» to attend to the clients who visited the residence.
This individual was a cocaine addict whom the traffickers used to conduct sales and evade any responsibility in case the Police detected the illicit activity and conducted a raid on the property.
With all the necessary evidence gathered, on February 12th, entry and search proceedings were carried out at the residences of the suspects, as well as at the property where the drug sales were taking place.
At the point of sale, both the trafficker and the «runner» were caught red-handed. On top of a coffee table, 100 grams of cocaine were arranged for sale, along with several precision scales and tools for the dosing and distribution of drugs.
At the traffickers’ residence, various pieces of gold, 12 grams of amphetamine, and 14,500 euros in cash were seized, presumably derived from the illicit profits obtained from drug sales.
With this police operation, a drug sales point that was causing serious neighborhood problems and significant social alarm in the social housing blocks where the illicit activity was taking place has been dismantled. The three individuals arrested were brought before the Investigation Court number 2 of Albacete.
