The City Council launches various training initiatives for employment through the Local Development Agency.
The local development councilor, Ángel Perea, has reported on the different training initiatives being implemented by the City Council, through the Local Development Agency, such as the Workshop + Youth for Employment, for a group of 8 young people aged between 16 and 30 who will undertake two professional certificates with corresponding internships.

On one hand, there is an initial 2-month training phase where the Professional Certificate in Cleaning Surfaces and Furniture in Buildings and Premises will be developed. The non-labor internships will take place in the City Council’s cleaning service. During this period, the students will receive a stipend.

The Youth for Employment program will continue with a training phase alternating with the Professional Certificate in Facilitating Educational Leisure Activities for Children and Youth.

In this case, students will undergo an initial 2-month unpaid phase, followed by a 6-month employment phase, where they will train and work simultaneously at the City Council in services involving minors.

In addition to the professional certificates, complementary training will be provided in new technologies, food handling, job skills, and other cross-cutting subjects to enhance the employability of the participants.

The councilor aims to improve access to employment, especially for groups furthest from the labor market, such as young people under 30 without completed compulsory education.

Qualification and Requalification Training

Furthermore, the City Council has received a grant of over 26,000 euros for the Reskilling-Upskilling program: Modular Training Aimed at Qualifying and Requalifying the Active Population.

This program will offer 5 training actions divided into two themes. Firstly, in the field of advanced information technologies, there will be a course on Artificial Intelligence applied to administration and marketing, scheduled from June 4 to 27, comprising a total of 50 hours.

Additionally, there will be a 60-hour course on drone piloting, scheduled from April 8 to 30, and a course on graphic presentations and content on social media from June 2 to 17, lasting 50 hours.

Each training action is aimed at a group of 12 employed or unemployed individuals.

On the other hand, in the hospitality and tourism sector, there will be a 32-hour course on Managing Allergens in Hospitality, scheduled from June 2 to 11, as well as a course on Quality and Traceability of locally sourced consumer products, planned from June 12 to 27, with a duration of 40 hours.

In this case, the groups will consist of a maximum of 15 students.

The councilor notes that the courses will be held at the Local Development Agency in the morning, facilitating the balance between family, work, and personal life.

Through these initiatives, according to Perea, training in emerging competencies that evolve rapidly and will generate future job opportunities is addressed. Therefore, training actions related to business modernization, new technologies, and new tools are offered.
