El BSR Amiab Albacete secured their fourth consecutive Champions Cup victory this Saturday, the highest continental competition in wheelchair basketball, by defeating DECO Amicacci Abruzzo (62-42), while the Spanish team CD Ilunion finished third on the podium.
The team from Albacete defended their continental crown and made history in the competition as the first team capable of winning the title four years in a row. Under the leadership of Abraham Carrión, they took control from the beginning and sealed the deal in the final quarter.
A 20-7 run allowed the Albacete team to claim their fourth Champions Cup in a row. Jorge Salazar (24 points) stood out in the final alongside Philip Pratt (16 assists) and Alejandro Zarzuela at the GSB Basaksehir Gençlik Merkezi sports complex in Turkey.
Meanwhile, CD Ilunion, who fell in the semi-finals once again against the team from Albacete, defeated the Thuringia Bulls from Germany (86-50) to secure the bronze medal.
