El Plan Meteocam activado en todas las provincias de Castilla-La Mancha

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha, through the Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations, and Digital Transformation, activated on Monday the Specific Plan for Risk from Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (Meteocam) in the provinces of Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, and Toledo, joining Albacete and Cuenca, where it was already activated on Sunday.

The Plan’s management has reported this activation due to the warnings from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for heavy rains and storms.

Castilla-La Mancha is one of the nine autonomous communities on yellow alert this Monday for high temperatures, rain, and storms.

The state agency details that temperatures will exceed 34-36 degrees in most of the southern half of the peninsula, areas of the northern plateau, depressions in the northeast, and locally in the northwest, specifically in Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Lleida, Madrid, Ourense, Salamanca, Valladolid, Zamora, and Zaragoza. It is likely to exceed 38-40 degrees in the southern half of the Atlantic slope: Toledo, Seville, Cordoba, and Badajoz.

TIPS FOR STRONG RAINS AND STORMS

In this situation, if you encounter heavy rain on the road, reduce your speed, adapting to the existing visibility; avoid passing through flooded sections, riverbeds, or ravines, and if you are on foot in the countryside, seek elevated places in case of flooding.

Regarding heavy rains, remove outdoor items from your home that could be swept away by water. If part of your home floods, leave basements and ground floors and disconnect the power supply.

Outdoors, during heavy rain or a storm, avoid parking your vehicle or crossing streams or riverbeds with it to prevent being swept away by a sudden surge of water. In this sense, stay away from gullies, rivers, or torrents to avoid being caught in a flash flood.

Finally, avoid traveling on the road, and if necessary, check the weather conditions of the area you are heading to and take extra precautions due to the possible presence of obstacles on the road.

Lastly, remember that in case of emergency, call 1-1-2, and all citizens are encouraged to use it responsibly.
