The mayor of Valdepeñas, Jesús Martín, participated in the inauguration of the Strategic Meeting ‘Building the Future of Social Participation in Health in Castilla-La Mancha’, along with the Health Minister, Jesús Fernández.
Jesús Martín stated that «Valdepeñas is now the regional headquarters for the socialization of medicine, where professionals can interact with associations and groups working towards health,» emphasizing that «it is a way to further democratize healthcare.» The mayor thanked the Health Minister, Jesús Fernández, and, on his behalf, the regional president Emiliano García-Page for holding this regional meeting in the municipality.
In turn, the Health Minister of Castilla-La Mancha, Jesús Fernández, highlighted «participation as a right of society and individuals.» He added, «We want to place individuals in society as the maximum value in healthcare provision. This is what the Government of Emiliano García-Page has aimed to do since its inception in 2015, starting with the need to restore the system. Today, we are in the ideal moment to discuss the democratization and participation of individuals in healthcare.»
The project ‘Building the Future of Social Participation in Health’ is part of the Health Plan of Castilla-La Mancha for the horizon of 2025, which places individuals at the center of the healthcare system and seeks to integrate different levels of care, ensure the sustainability of the system, promote health equity, and guarantee the quality and safety of care.
