García-Page announces “six more months” for TOROVERDE to present “improvements” to the ecotourism and adventure park project
Cuenca, April 18, 2025.– The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, announced this morning in Cuenca that the regional government will extend the deadline by “six more months” for the company TOROVERDE to continue “presenting improvements” to the construction project of the ecotourism and adventure park proposed in this capital, a “very important project for future generations” that is also “very complex”.
The regional president made this announcement early on Good Friday in Cuenca, where he attended the Procession of the Path of Calvary, one of the most “striking, surprising, and special celebrations in Spain and Castilla-La Mancha,” highlighting a region that has a “very rich, varied, polychromatic, and different Holy Week.”
In this context, the head of the Castilla-La Mancha government announced that “next Tuesday” the Council of Government will authorize the extension of this deadline so that the American company can introduce “improvements in efficiency, sustainability,” ensuring that the new planned facilities “comply with legislation and even exceed what European requirements will be in a very short time.”
“I think it will be a project, not only very well suited to Cuenca, which fits very well with the city and the feelings of Cuenca, but also will generate interest in this type of tourism that complements what Cuenca already has,” said Emiliano García-Page, who expressed confidence that it will “attract new tourists and consolidate many,” placing the city of Cuenca “on the map” for this “type of tourism.”
Half a million euros for the recovery of Brotherhoods’ steps
Also this morning, the regional president announced that the regional government will allocate “half a million euros” to specific projects in Brotherhoods to “help recovery projects” of images and steps from Holy Week.
In statements to CMM, García-Page indicated that this assistance will begin “from this year 2025” to enhance many elements of a Holy Week that “in many cases, in the region, is already exceptional.”
The last Holy Week “without lifts”
From the City Council of Cuenca, the regional president highlighted that this will be “the last Holy Week without lifts,” referring to the accessible connection to the historic center that the regional government is promoting in this capital, signifying “a before and after in many ways: economic boost, mobility, collective self-esteem.”
As García-Page pointed out, the new access routes will ensure “by this time next year” universal accessibility to the historic center of the city, contributing to “the beginning of a progressive growth and stimulus,” allowing “tourists to find facilities to reach a historic center as high and beautiful as that of Cuenca.”
Almost complete Holy Week in hotel establishments
Likewise, the president of Castilla-La Mancha celebrated that the region is “showing great splendor” during these days when it is receiving “many visitors and we have almost full occupancy in most of the Autonomous Community.” All this, “despite the rain” that has not prevented the forecasts from remaining “very good for the rest of the week and especially in Cuenca,” he noted.
“Everywhere you can feel a growth and greater social participation of many young people in Holy Week,” valued Emiliano García-Page, who has already visited various points in the Autonomous Community during these dates and who, tonight, will participate in the Procession of the Holy Burial in the town of Hellín, Albacete.
