Guadalajara City Council, through the Department of Culture, has presented a new edition of the program «Las Placitas del Casco», which will fill the historic center of the city with live music for the next two months.
The Councilor for Culture, Javier Toquero, has highlighted that this initiative fulfills a triple objective: promoting local hospitality, bringing culture to all audiences, and giving visibility to local artists. «With this program, we are betting on a free and outdoor cultural offer, designed for all audiences and in an emblematic environment like our historic center,» he pointed out.
A total of 40 free concerts have been scheduled, with performances every Friday and Saturday starting at 9:00 pm, an «ideal time to start the night with friends and enjoy the city,» the Culture councilor commented.
Of the scheduled artists, 12 are from Guadalajara, such as Itziar Gregorio, Difussion, Musameri, or Bel Mur, among others. The lineup includes a wide variety of musical styles: pop, indie, jazz, rock, funky, blues, soul, Celtic music, and versions of classics from the 60s and 70s.
Additionally, this year the stages will be adorned with a new audiovisual resource, a striking neon sign with the program’s name, which will bring a renewed and modern visual touch to the performances.
