La Delegación de Sanidad de Albacete impulsa una exposición sobre alimentación sostenible en Almansa

Almansa hosts the exhibition «Sustainable and Healthy Food» from this Wednesday, an initiative promoted by the Health Delegation of Albacete, in collaboration with educational centers in the province. The exhibition, which will remain at the CEIP Príncipe de Asturias until February 28, aims to raise awareness about more sustainable and healthy eating habits.

The inauguration was attended by the Provincial Delegate of Health, Juani García, the mayor of Almansa, Pilar Callado, and the school director, Isabel Megías, who highlighted the importance of education in responsible consumption and balanced nutrition from an early age.

During the visit, the students of the center themselves explained the content of the informative panels, relating it to the actions they already carry out at the school, such as promoting healthy snacks, encouraging packaging recycling, or making the most of food. This active participation has allowed attendees to firsthand see how these principles are being applied.

The exhibition consists of thirteen informative panels that address different key aspects of nutrition, from menu planning to choosing local and seasonal products, responsible consumption of meat and fish, the importance of legumes, and reducing food waste.

“It is essential that the population, especially the younger generation, acquire habits that not only benefit their health but also the environment,” García Vitoria emphasized during the visit.

The program, promoted by the Consumer section of the Health Delegation, is being carried out in various high schools and schools in the province of Albacete, with the aim of expanding its educational impact.
