La Semana de la Música Moderna en el Aula de Música Moderna

The Modern Music Classroom presents the Modern Music Week with numerous activities involving students and teachers.

The Modern Music Classroom (MMC) «Argimiro Martínez,» belonging to the Youth Department, has organized the first Modern Music Week to be held from April 7th to 11th in Villarrobledo.

This was highlighted by the Youth Councillor, Juan José Calero, along with the area coordinator, Martín Carpintero, and the teachers of the MMC, Alicia Martínez, Raúl Jiménez, and Quique Ruescas, emphasizing the commitment of all teachers in continuing to propose activities that promote, in this case, music and culture in our city, aiming to engage young people.

Calero points out that for years the MMC held its traditional audition in April, which has now expanded this year with a different format, including new activities open to the public throughout the week.

This is a great way to showcase all the work done in the classrooms, with both students and teachers performing in front of the audience. Therefore, the councillor also congratulates the students of the MMC for always being willing to participate in all proposed activities.

Calero invites everyone to attend all the planned activities during Modern Music Week to enjoy live music and support the young people who are training at the school.

In this regard, Martín Carpintero adds that the aim of the Youth Department is to promote the dissemination of modern music in Villarrobledo, with auditions, concerts, and training activities throughout the week, including a photography exhibition as part of the contest launched on the evolution of modern music in Villarrobledo.

Therefore, on Monday, April 7th, at 7:30 pm, in the auditorium of the Market of Supplies, the official inauguration of Modern Music Week will take place, followed by the Masterclass offered by musician Mario Raya.

Mario Raya, also a producer, composer, and mentor, nationally recognized, will be in Villarrobledo to conduct a training session open to the public, which Quique Ruescas assures will be interesting and fun, providing an opportunity to learn from a renowned artist.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8th and 9th, also at 7:30 pm in the same venue, the auditions for singing students on Tuesday and instrument students on Wednesday will take place, as explained by Raúl Jiménez.

Jiménez emphasizes that students are always motivated to perform on stage, which is why auditions and concerts are always encouraged by the MMC.

This leads us to Thursday, April 10th, with a concert by the MMC teachers. It will be at 7:00 pm, also at the market of supplies, featuring a repertoire of songs composed and performed by Spanish singer-songwriters.

This was stated by Alicia Martínez, singing teacher, who will perform alongside Raúl Jiménez on guitar, Víctor Perona on drums, and Quique Ruescas on bass.

Friday will be the grand finale. Starting at 7:30 pm, the 5 MMC combos will perform, including the female combo from the Municipal School «Maestro Cisneros» in La Roda.

Afterwards, the prizes for the photography contest will be awarded, with the deadline still open for submissions on the history of modern music in Villarrobledo. The guidelines can be found on the municipal website and at the MMC facilities.
