Observación guiada del eclipse parcial de Sol en Almansa

The councilor of Tourism of the City Council of Almansa, Javier Boj, and the founding partner of Astronomy Astrophotography Almansa, Juan Aguado, have presented at a press conference the activity of observing the partial eclipse of the Sun, which will take place next Saturday, March 29th starting at 11:00 am at the Starlight Point next to the Red Promenade.

The councilor highlighted the importance of these initiatives, which not only promote scientific dissemination but also generate interest in other municipalities in the province. «We have been asked from different locations after the dissemination of the poster on social networks,» said Boj, who thanked the work of the Astroalmansa association in promoting accessible astronomical events for the public.

Juan Aguado explained the technical details of the phenomenon and the scheduled program. «The eclipse will reach its peak around 12:20, with a partial obscuration of 20% of the Sun by the Moon,» Aguado said. The observation will be carried out with specialized equipment, including a telescope with hydrogen solar filters and specific protective glasses, which will be available for attendees.

In addition to the guided observation, informative talks and a projection on a giant screen will be offered so that all attendees can follow the event in real time. «Seeing the Sun on a large scale will allow a unique experience, facilitating the understanding of these phenomena beyond what books can show,» added Aguado.

For the youngest participants, the day will include interactive activities and the possibility of using homemade projection boxes, prepared in a previous session dedicated to astronomy. «We want everyone to enjoy the eclipse safely and educationally,» said the Astroalmansa representative, who emphasized the importance of not observing the Sun without adequate protection.

Javier Boj emphasized that this initiative is part of the Starlight tourism project, through which Almansa seeks to promote sky observation as a cultural and scientific attraction. «We not only support these activities, but we also work to expand the certified observation points in the city,» announced the councilor, anticipating the creation of two new sites in the Rambla de los Molinos and the Pantano.

To conclude, Boj reiterated the invitation to the public to participate in this Saturday’s activity. «From the Tourism Department, we will continue to promote these initiatives, which combine science, education, and tourism in a privileged environment,» he concluded.
