Reconocimiento a Mª Luisa Calonge y MAEVI en Villarrobledo

The Mayor, Valentín Bueno, has highlighted the contribution of Mª Luis Calonge and MAEVI to the role and visibility of women in the business fabric of Villarrobledo.

The villarrobledense, Mª Luisa Calonge, continues to receive recognition and awards for her long career working in favor of gender equality, labor integration, and female entrepreneurship, giving visibility to women in the business world, as a founding and active member of the Women’s Association of Villarrobledo (MAEVI).

At the tribute paid by her fellow members of the Association a few weeks ago, due to her retirement, was added the recognition she received from the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha on March 8, International Women’s Day, and today the recognition she received from the City Council, by Mayor Valentín Bueno.

Mª Luisa Calonge was accompanied by many of the presidents who have led MAEVI since its foundation, the current president along with members of the board of directors and members who wanted to support her in this new recognition from the city council of her town for her contribution to the society of Villarrobledo.

In this context, the Mayor congratulated Mª Luisa Calonge for all the recognition and affection she has received in recent months, congratulating all the women who, through MAEVI, have been involved in great achievements throughout their career.

MAEVI, a project that works to continue giving visibility to women in the business world, with over 70 members who want to continue growing, training, and creating wealth and employment in our city.

Mª Luisa Calonge, for her part, thanked for this recognition that she wanted to share with her colleagues, now friends because she says they are her «driving force» and her «strength.»

She points out that she always had concerns about promoting the role of women in business, managing to found MAEVI in 1997, seeking to establish contacts, have access to professional and personal training, and above all, gain visibility and be taken into account in decision-making processes.

She also fights to reduce the gender pay gap and improve working conditions for women in the workplace, also being part of the pro-hospital platform of Villarrobledo, training in new and emerging technologies to maintain competitiveness.

Mª Luisa Calonge highlights all the forums in which MAEVI has participated, with their opinion being taken into account in different areas of society, and also learning from them.

She affirms that MAEVI is a reference, brought here by its 9 presidents along with their boards of directors and all the members who have always rowed in the same direction.

She invites all young women joining the project to enjoy the process of achieving the set goals, referring at this point to their parents, to whom she says values such as perseverance, respect, and effort always bear fruit, values ​​that she affirms all the women in MAEVI possess.

Mª Luisa Calonge encourages the new generations of entrepreneurs taking over, convinced that it will have a brilliant continuity, and adds that sharing these years with all her colleagues has been «a true gift of life.»
