‘Valdepeñas en Danza’ takes dance to the streets in its fourth edition
The Spanish dance and contemporary dance will once again take center stage in the streets of Valdepeñas with the fourth edition of ‘Valdepeñas en Danza’, which will take place this weekend with the participation of 120 dance students. This initiative by the Marta Serrano School, with the support of the Valdepeñas City Council, aims to bring dance closer to the public in various public spaces.
Vanessa Irla, the deputy mayor for Culture, highlighted during the presentation of this new edition that «we have been carrying out this activity for several years in Plaza Constitución, Plaza España, and other spaces in the town, with the aim of bringing dance closer to the public and showcasing the beauty and expressiveness that only movement can offer.»
She also made a call to the public to participate in these activities, which involve many hours of work and dedication from all the students.
‘Valdepeñas en Danza’ will offer classical dance on Friday, April 25, at 18:20 in Plaza de España, and at 20:15 in Plaza Constitución, flamenco dance covering different styles. On Saturday, April 26, starting at 20:15 in Plaza Constitución, there will be a display of classical, urban, and contemporary dance.
Marta Serrano mentioned that «this is the fourth edition we have organized in collaboration with the city council, and this year we wanted to coincide with World Dance Day following the premise of bringing dance to all audiences and reaching out to the spectators to make this art accessible to everyone.»
Therefore, on Tuesday, the 29th, there will be an activity to introduce dance to the students of the Municipal Infant School of Cachiporro, and on Wednesday, the 30th, there will be an inclusive dance workshop at IES Francisco Nieva, where students will interact with users of the Association of Family and Friends of People with Intellectual Disabilities (AFAD).
