Valdepeñas mitiga de nuevo el calor este verano con su seña de identidad. Más de 4.000 paraguas decorativos se encuentran instalados en las calles comerciales de la localidad, cuyos colores -rojo, verde amarillo y azul- conmemoran el Año Jubilar.
Esta iniciativa del Ayuntamiento de Valdepeñas se inició en el año 2014, impulsando un importante reclamo turístico que incentiva tanto el comercio local como la hostelería. Como cada verano, la localidad, que dedica esta iniciativa a una temática, protagoniza fotografías virales en las redes sociales.
La teniente de alcalde de Promoción Económica y Comercio, Julia Cejudo, ha indicado que “el objetivo principal de la instalación de los paraguas consiste en apoyar al comercio local, dando sombra cuando la gente salga de compras. Además, somos un referente en materia de turismo, ya que mucha gente viene y comparte su visita a Valdepeñas por todas las redes sociales”.
Las calles Juan Alcaide y Pangino lucen paraguas elaborados de ganchillo, realizados por usuarias del Centro Municipal de Mayores del Lucero, en colaboración con los centros sociales de los barrios Cachiporro y Virgen de la Cabeza, así como por alumnado de la Universidad Popular. En el resto de calles, Virgen, Balbuena, Escuelas, Castellanos y Real, se han instalado los paraguas decorativos cuyos colores -rojo, verde, amarillo y azul- conmemoran el Año Jubilar 2025.
Finalmente, la instalación de los paraguas cuenta con una inversión de 11.500 euros, suponiendo un revulsivo para el comercio y la hostelería durante la época estival, además de una iniciativa solidaria, ya que una vez terminado el verano los paraguas se donan a una ONG o entidad social para su venta simbólica por 1 euro.
