After consulting various sources and considering the weather forecasts, «the intention is to celebrate the Piñata Sunday, a big day in the capital,» said Mar Sánchez, councilor of Festivities.

The City Council of Ciudad Real announces that the city will celebrate Piñata Sunday, once various sources have been consulted and considering the weather forecasts. 43 peñas and associations will display colorful costumes and dances along the usual route, attracting a crowd from different points of the province and region, mainly.

The councilor of Festivities, Mar Sánchez, states that «we are excited to see the work of so many days by associations and peñas, and hopefully the weather will be on our side, although we know that, according to the forecasts, there may be some rain in the city.» And she adds, «we will be watching the sky, but the intention is for Ciudad Real to enjoy one of the biggest days to celebrate.»

With the Grand Parade of the National Contest of Floats and Groups of Piñata Sunday, declared of regional tourist interest since 1991, the aim is to put the final touch to the Carnival of Ciudad Real. The parade will start at the Gasset Park at 11:00 a.m., and the prize-giving, 30,500 euros in cash prizes, will be in the late afternoon at the stage located in Pablo Picasso Promenade.
