A hundred young people from Valdepeñas are being trained in the proper use of technology and digital security through the ‘Digital Camp’ course, which is organized by the Valdepeñas City Council in collaboration with the Cibervoluntarios Foundation and other entities.
The Youth Councilor, Inmaculada Pacheco, visited the latest course, which is being held in partnership with the Neighborhood Association of Barrio de Fátima. She emphasized that «we are carrying out another course, which in total has involved nearly a hundred young people, children, and adolescents who will be trained in digitalization. They will receive good training in digital content, learn to disconnect from technology, create digital content, detect fake news, and promote and distribute good news. In this sense, we are providing educational activities during the summer for the children and adolescents of Valdepeñas.»
This initiative is being carried out through the Cibervoluntarios Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Childhood, and is funded by Next Generation funds. The president of the Neighborhood Association of Barrio de Fátima, Natalia Sánchez, highlighted that the goal of this training is to bridge the digital divide, especially among young people. She expressed gratitude for the support of the Valdepeñas City Council in providing the necessary resources for these types of courses.
