Controlado el incendio en Villena que ha afectado a Castilla-La Mancha tras quemar 56 hectáreas

The Villena fire (Alicante), declared in the La Encina district and spread to Castilla-La Mancha, has been brought under control at 6:00 p.m. this Sunday after affecting around 56 hectares. Three units continue: one from the provincial organization, another from forest firefighters, and another from Castilla-La Mancha personnel.

The Villena fire, stabilized at 10:04 a.m. this Sunday, originated on Saturday at noon on the cemetery road, in an area near the border of Alicante province with Albacete, which forced to resize the mobilized personnel to the Ibi fire.

After perimetering the Villena fire on Saturday afternoon, firefighters have worked on Sunday morning to extinguish a flare-up.

On the other hand, the forest fire declared last Friday in Ibi (Alicante) has also been controlled since 6:00 p.m. this Sunday.

The Ibi fire was stabilized on Saturday after spreading to the municipal area of Alcoi and affecting 185 hectares, 147 of them in the Font Roja Natural Park. On Sunday, aerial and ground resources have continued to detect hot spots and assess the situation of the flames.

The favorable evolution of this fire has allowed the Forest Fire Special Plan (PEIF) to be downgraded from level 2 to level 1, resulting in the demobilization of the Emergency Military Unit (UME) personnel.

The origin of the Ibi forest fire is located in a religious community in the area, something that agents from the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard are investigating.

VEGETATION FIRE IN EL PUIG

On the other hand, on Sunday afternoon, a vegetation fire started in El Puig (Valencia), where five units and a forest brigade from the Provincial Fire Consortium, three air resources, two fire trucks, and two forest firefighters units from the Generalitat along with a fire prevention technician are working on its extinction.

The Emergency Coordination Center established level 0 of the Forest Fire Pre-Emergency Plan (PFEIF) after 7:00 p.m. due to the possibility that the vegetation fire in El Puig could affect forest mass.

This Monday, the extreme (red) level of pre-emergency due to the risk of forest fires will continue throughout the Valencian Community, so any type of fire is prohibited, and it is recommended to engage in sports or leisure activities near active fires, as reminded by the Emergency Coordination Center.

The 112 emergency services warn that fires are very dangerous and until they are completely extinguished, transit in the surrounding areas should be avoided. There may be hot spots that can reignite the fire, so it is essential to let the extinction resources work without hindrance.
