On Tuesday, the Councilor for Education, Alejandro Hernández, together with representatives from the Josefina Ruano AMPA Federation, presented all the details of the Children’s Carnival 2025 at a press conference.
During the event, the prizes for the Children’s Poster Contest were awarded, with the winning poster being by Thiago Baena, a student from CEIP Virgen de Belén. Also recognized were the works of students from the ASPRONA special education school, Paula Mínguez (CEIP Virgen de Belén) and Guillermo Tomás (CEIP Claudio Sánchez Albornoz). Students from 4th grade from all local schools, as well as the ASPRONA special education center, participated in the contest.
Thanks to the donation of gifts from Papelería Molina, Sonia Libros, Copiplus, and Papelería Castillo, the winners were able to receive their prizes in recognition of their creativity.
The Children’s Carnival parade will take place next Sunday, March 2nd starting at 11:00 am. This year, the original route is being restored, which had to be modified in the previous edition due to construction. The itinerary will start from the Church of San Roque and will pass through the streets of Aniceto Coloma, Coronel Arteaga passage, San Francisco, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, and Pío Baroja until reaching the Fairground. Spaces will be organized for each school and kindergarten to facilitate the collection of children by their families.
The meeting point for participants will be at 10:30 am at the intersection of the Church of San Roque. Each school has received a document with precise instructions on their formation and location in the parade. The final entertainment will also feature changes: the La Resistencia band will be responsible for entertaining the Fairground until the end of the event.
The organization has noted that a decision on a possible cancellation due to weather conditions will be made early Sunday morning. In case of cancellation, families will be informed through the official channels of the AMPA Federation, social media, and local media.
With over 1,300 children participating in the parade, the Children’s Carnival 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most populous and anticipated events for the younger ones. The organization hopes that weather conditions will allow for a smooth celebration and thanks all collaborating individuals, families, and kindergarten schools who have worked on the parade preparations.
