El verano cultural de Almansa llega a las calles con diversión para todos

The cultural summer of Almansa takes to the streets with a diverse program

The City Council of Almansa presented this morning its summer cultural program, a complete agenda of activities that will take place during the month of July in different outdoor spaces of the city. The goal is clear: «bring culture to the streets and to all neighborhoods of Almansa».

Borja López, Councilor of Culture, emphasized that the proposal includes cinema, theater, circus, flamenco, and musical performances, many of them aimed at a family audience. «From the very beginning, we wanted this cultural offer to be embraced by the entire community. Each activity will take place in a different location,» he explained.

The program will kick off this Friday, June 13th with «Thumbelina Detective,» a children’s show at Plaza de las Agustinas, organized by the Department of Equality through the funds of the State Pact against gender-based violence. Starting in July, the cycle will continue with film screenings, circus acts, flamenco shows, children’s performances, and a massive concert as part of the CLM Suena festival.

Mayor of Almansa, Pilar Callado, mentioned that this program fulfills a commitment made during the electoral campaign. «From the very beginning, we wanted the cultural offer not to be concentrated only in autumn or winter, but also in the months where traditionally there is not as much activity. Almansa lacked culture in July, and that had to change,» she stated.

Callado emphasized that the activities are diverse and will take place in different areas of the city, avoiding the usual centralization: «We wanted to reach all corners of Almansa».

Specifically, the mayor announced that, following a recent renovation, Parque de los Coloma now has full accessibility, allowing people with reduced mobility to enjoy the events: «This year, for the first time, people with reduced mobility will be able to attend, where they couldn’t before».

Callado took a moment to talk about the CLM Suena festival, scheduled for July 5th with artists like Lori Meyers, Anni B Sweet, and Señor Aliaga. She announced that, for technical and convenience reasons, the concert will finally be moved to the Recinto Ferial, a decision that will improve access and increase attendance: «It’s in the center, which will make it easier for people coming from outside to enjoy and consume in the city».

In addition, specific tickets for people with reduced mobility have been made available, with an adapted platform.

Finally, Callado thanked the Culture department and Councilor Borja López for their work, assuring that this program will be enjoyable for all citizens and encouraging massive participation in each of the activities.
