The youth councilor, Juan José Calero, along with the area coordinator, Martín Carpintero, and the technician Juan Carlos Santos, have presented the activities scheduled around the Environment Week celebrated from June 3rd to 7th.

An activity organized by the youth council that this year presents a different format as it will mainly take place through social media.
!
This is highlighted by Calero, emphasizing that it is about raising awareness for environmental care, thinking and proposing activities for young people that serve this purpose, while also allowing participation «at their own pace» so they can do the proposed activities when they decide without having to attend a specific date and time, and showing their participation through social media using the proposed hashtag, #atuaire.
!
This way, the council adapts to the times of the young collective, while still emphasizing the values that this week proposes, to take care of the environment and promote a more sustainable environment.
!
Thus, the proposal for this Environment Week is «open and flexible» so that each young person can participate at their own pace, according to their interests and possibilities, in activities that aim to raise awareness on three international days closely linked to the planet, sustainability, and nature. Each of these days has specific content, useful tips, and small challenges proposed by the council, with all the information available on their website: https://juventud.villarrobledo.com/semanadelmedioambiente

June 3rd is World Bicycle Day, promoting the use of the bike as a sustainable means of transportation, with practical tips and two challenges that can be shared on social media afterwards. One is to take a bike tour through the city parks and the other is to take the Orchard Route, a round trip to the Vadohondo pine forest.
!
On Thursday, June 5th, it is World Environment Day, dedicated to creativity, recycling, and play, proposing the creation of an artwork from recycled materials and sharing it on social media, as well as learning to play Catán, a board game about natural resources, and posting a photo playing with friends.
!
Lastly, on Saturday, June 7th, it is World Swift Day. A day dedicated to bird watching, inviting young people to go out and spot and identify swifts or other urban birds, sharing images or videos of the experience.

Martín Carpintero concludes by stating that last year’s Environment Week was very well received, with participation in its various activities, which encourages them to continue with a new edition in 2025, mainly motivated by the importance of raising awareness about caring for our environment, making it known, and conveying to young people the message of working towards a more sustainable and clean planet.
