The mayor of Almansa, Pilar Callado, has announced in a press conference the opening of the teleworking room and the multipurpose room in the La Lonja building, a new space designed to provide people with a suitable environment for teleworking.
«Today we launch this teleworking space in the La Lonja building, a shared space with 18 workstations available for those who need a suitable environment to carry out their work remotely,» Callado stated.
This new space, in addition to having a main teleworking room, features a soundproof booth and an adjacent meeting room, which can be used for work meetings or video calls. «Users will have access to all the common services of the building, including toilets and other facilities available at La Lonja,» detailed the mayor.
Access and operation of the service
The only requirement to access this service will be to prove the status of a working person, whether as an employee or self-employed. «We want to make it clear that this is not a study room, but a space specifically designed for teleworking,» explained Callado.
During 2025, the use of these facilities will be completely free. «This year will serve as a trial to assess demand and identify possible improvements. We want to ensure that the service meets the needs of the users,» she indicated.
The room will be available from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00, coinciding with the opening of the other services in the building. However, there is some flexibility, as if the closing staff remains longer, users may extend their day until 15:00.
To access the room, interested individuals must register at the Citizen Service Office. «Starting tomorrow, the registration will be available. A access code and a document with the rules of use will be provided,» added Callado.
The mayor highlighted that the opening of this room fulfills an electoral commitment of her government team. «When we ran for elections, we advocated for the need for a teleworking space in Almansa. Today, we can say that this commitment is fulfilled and that it will start operating tomorrow,» she affirmed.
The provision of these spaces is part of the revitalization plan of La Lonja. «Little by little, we are completing the committed services. First, we launched the Technological Training Office for Citizens, then the Citizen Service Office with the registry and census, and now this space for teleworking,» she recalled.
Callado also emphasized that the renovation of the building was carried out thanks to European FEDER funds, and the municipality’s own funds (1.2 million). The Regional Government contributed €15,000 and the Provincial Council €35,000, earmarked for furniture and technological equipment, she specified.
With these initiatives, the Almansa City Council continues its commitment to modernization and improvement of public services, reinforcing the use of the La Lonja building as a key point for the community.
