The development of the digital citizen folder in Valdepeñas, one of the digital improvements of the City Council, has been carried out to facilitate the procedures of the citizens through the electronic platform. Specifically, a comprehensive citizen folder has been developed and the digital infrastructure of the council has been modernized, with an investment of 215,734 euros through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU.
The Deputy Mayor for New Technologies, Gregorio Sánchez, highlighted that the comprehensive development of the citizen folder allows for transactions without the need to travel. This enables any Valdepeñas citizen to interact with all levels of Spanish administration, from local to national, through the electronic platform, accessing any file online and avoiding physical travel.
In terms of modernizing the council’s digital infrastructure, Juan Jimeno, the head of IT services at the Valdepeñas City Council, explained that 45 laptops have been provided for municipal and corporate employees, cloud tool licenses have been acquired, the data center infrastructure has been improved, and a cloud backup service has been contracted.
The two projects, with an investment of 215,734 euros through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU, received European funding of 209,450 euros.
