The Gala del Deporte in Valdepeñas is set to take place this Friday, March 21st, at 8:30 pm in the Teatro Auditorio Municipal ‘Francisco Nieva’. The event will honor over 130 athletes from the local area who have achieved remarkable sporting accomplishments during the past season.
This gala aims to recognize the effort and success of our athletes and clubs, highlighting the strong sporting community in Valdepeñas. The event will feature the announcement of the Best Male and Female Athletes of the season, selected by the Sports and Youth Information Commission from the pool of 130 sponsored athletes. Awards will also be presented to the top athletes in school promotion, both male and female.
Additionally, special recognitions will be given to clubs, individuals, institutions, companies, and club sponsors for their support of sports. Among the special awards, the Valdepeñas Athletics Club – Sistemas Valcom’s women’s team, winners of the Castilla-La Mancha Women’s Cup, and Joaquín Pérez for his contribution to the sport will be honored. The girls’ youth team from the Club Asociación de Baloncesto ‘El Candil’, ranked third in the Castilla-La Mancha Championship, as well as the girls’ cadet team from the same club, third in the regional championship, will also be recognized.
During the gala, special awards will be presented to the regional youth team of Fútbol Sala Ciudad del Vino, champions of Castilla-La Mancha and participants in the Spanish Club Championship, and the master section of the Valdepeñas Swimming Club for their achievements in the 2023/2024 season. Lastly, the 3×3 junior girls’ basketball team will be recognized for their runner-up placement in Castilla-La Mancha and participation in the Spanish Championship.
As in previous editions, the Gala del Deporte de Valdepeñas will be free to attend and this year will feature a performance by Paloma Puyol, the top freestyle ball athlete.
