According to tradition, every Thursday before Lent, Los Juanes announce the Carnival of Villarrobledo, arriving at a crowded Plaza Vieja adorned to kick off 10 intense days of celebration.
!
The Viking Los Juanes arrived accompanied by the Pisando Fuerte marching band, parading down Graciano Atienza Street, reminding the entire city that Carnival 2025 has arrived on the streets.
!
After greeting all attendees, they proceeded to the presentation of recognitions that this legendary troupe gives each year to individuals who hold special significance for them. This year, they awarded the posthumous Golden Egg to Manolo Guardabrazo, who is no longer with us but whom Los Juanes wanted to remember on this day alongside his family.
!
The second Golden Egg, as usual, went to a carnival troupe. This year, Los Juanes recognized the work and contribution to the carnival of the De Parranda group.
!
This entire event was enlivened, as always, with the unforgettable songs that Los Juanes debut each year, such as «I’m the Witch,» «The Clown Juanes,» «Here come the Juanes,» and ending with this year’s debut, «The Viking Juanes.»
!
Not forgetting the Juan Palomo Award that the troupe gives to one of its members to acknowledge their contribution and work within one of the longest-standing troupes in our Carnival. This year, the recognition went to Julio González, one of the youngest Juanes.
!
Present on this emblematic day of the Villarrobledo carnival were the Mayor, Valentín Bueno, and members of the government, with the mayor greeting the entire city and thanking Los Juanes for once again announcing this National Tourist Interest festival.
!
Bueno congratulated the awardees and invited everyone to enjoy the Carnival, sharing these days with family and friends and welcoming all visitors to celebrate with us «the best Carnival in the world.»
!
The night ended with a performance by the Pisando Fuerte marching band, bringing rhythm and energy to this first day of carnival festivities.
