The Plenary meeting approved unanimously the Action Plan against the Risk of Floods, which coordinates all emergency services and creates alerts in advance of warnings for residents in flood-prone areas.
Government spokesperson Francisco Delgado recalled the city’s tragic past with major storms, noting that efforts to mitigate these incidents have been ongoing through various actions. The Action Plan against the Risk of Floods outlines the protocol to follow in case of flooding in Valdepeñas, ensuring coordination among all services, including residents in flood-prone areas, to prevent human tragedies and protect property.
During the plenary session, a budget amendment of over 340,000 euros was approved for the contracting of services and technical documentation for urban development programs in various areas. These modifications were approved by a majority vote, with support from several political groups.
Additionally, a unanimous decision was made to allocate funds for the repair of the gymnasium roof at the Los Llanos Sports Complex. The plenary session also paved the way for the future development of public housing in the northern part of the city by approving the transfer of land to Gicaman for the construction of social housing.
The session also reviewed the prices of the cleaning contract with Prezero, approved by a majority vote.
