La IX Ruta Pantanera en Almansa en apoyo a la lucha contra el cáncer

Almansa mobilizes once again for a charitable cause with the celebration of the IX Ruta Pantanera, a sports and charity event organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (Almansa against cancer) in the town. The official presentation of the initiative took place at the Town Hall Press Room in the presence of Mayor Pilar Callado, Deputy Mayor of the Albacete Provincial Council, Fran Valera, and representatives of the organization.

The route, which will take place on March 9th, will start from Cuesta de Castilla at 10:30 in the morning and will have two modalities: a five-kilometer route and an eleven-kilometer route, accessible for both runners and walkers. «No one will be left out of participating, as the race is suitable for all levels,» highlighted by the organization.

The AECC would like to thank the support of the Almansa Town Hall, the Provincial Council, and the numerous sponsors and collaborators who make the event possible. In this edition, the Albacete Provincial Council has donated 1,000 commemorative red t-shirts in support of kidney cancer visibility.

Registrations can be made at the AECC headquarters from February 26th to March 7th at Calle La Estrella, No. 15, during morning hours (from 11:00 to 13:00) and afternoon hours (from 18:00 to 20:30). The registration fee is 5 euros, but those who wish can make higher donations, as all proceeds will go towards cancer research and treatment.

To facilitate attendance, a bus service will be available from the municipal pavilion, operating from 9:00 to 14:00, with constant trips to avoid vehicle congestion at the starting and finishing area.

Mayor Pilar Callado emphasized the importance of this event for Almansa: «It is a day eagerly awaited by the citizens, where in addition to practicing sports, we demonstrate our solidarity with those fighting against this disease.» Deputy Mayor Fran Valera reiterated the Provincial Council’s commitment to the cause and noted that this is «one of the socio-sanitary events with the greatest impact in the province.»
